Song Writing Intro
Paragraph
In the two songs, N.W.A; Fuck The Police,
and Jay-Z; 99 problems, there is a common theme that makes listeners aware of the
importance of their message. This theme is racism. In Fuck The Police they talk about how police
mess around with them and arrest them because of their color, especially if
they have money. “A young nigga got it
bad cause I'm brown
And not the other color so
police think
They have the
authority to kill a minority”
In Jay-Z’s song
he talks about how the police harassed him and tried to search his car because
he was a racial minority and he was young.
And I heard "Son do you know why I'm stopping you for?"
“Cause I'm
young and I'm black and my hat's real low.”
The two songs have
an intense and harsh way of expressing that message, but it has definitely
worked by making people realize how racism makes other people feel.
In the two
songs, you can tell that racism is brought up in a lot of different ways. In fuck the police they have the police
actually saying it, and in Jay-Z’s song it just has him saying that the police
are racist.
