You will either:
Rewrite a section of the story, or add a section to the story. Be creative. Add new text, characters, and ideas. If you have a criticism of the story, or thought that a part of it was, for example, unrealistic, feel free to edit or change that.
You may write in the same style as Roald Dahl, or change the setting of the story to present time, and change the style to a more contemporary one. (if you make these kinds of changes, please add a few sentences, or a paragraph at the end explaining these changes, and why you felt it was important to make them)
OR:
Write the story as a newspaper item. Sample Headline: Police Eat Murder Weapon. Mary Maloney Pleads Guilty.
Do not feel restricted to using this headline, as you may create your own. Have a look at newspaper articles in the Metro, Toronto Star, etc to see how newspaper articles are written. Make sure to write your article in a similar style.
You may use photos to accompany your article.
Make sure not to assume that the reader, ie, me or your classmates, knows the story. Be sure to explain the plot line (particularly if you are adding imaginative details) so that your reader is clear on what's happening.
Due date: Weds Sept 19th
